Jofco recognizes its role as steward and will employ practices that protect the environment and natural resources and do so in a socially responsible manner.

Jofco has earned a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody Certification. This means Jofco can manufacture products which are FSC certified, contributing toward LEED project points under MR Credit 7 for Certified Wood.

When exploring ways in which Jofco could further contribute to the environment, an amazing opportunity came about to partner with Jhane Barnes, a celebrated designer with a life-long passion for sustainable living. Jhane's vision was a completely environmental product which gives the specifier more flexibility. Jofco found rapidly renewable, low emitting and recyclable materials from reputable sources which Jhane could design her first casegoods. The series is named Tahké™, Japanese for "bamboo."
